Presentation at the European Conference on Developmental Psychology in Vilnius
The poster presentation illustrated the crying characteristics of young children diagnosed with Down’s syndrome under the age of thirty-six months living in Hungary in terms of observable behaviour and parental perceptions (for example, the intensity and frequency of crying episodes, parental soothing strategies, and parental concern about crying) compared with the results of crying in typically developing children of the same age from the nationally representative research conducted by the Semmelweis University Institute of Mental Health (SE MHI) for the Infancy in 21st Century Hungary project. The comparative analysis of crying behaviour and parental experiences aimed to identify specific characteristics that could enable more effective support for children with Down’s syndrome and their parents during early intervention.
