Beáta Prónay Receives International Recognition

ICEVI works globally to promote the social inclusion of children and young adults with visual impairments and to improve their access to education, habilitation and rehabilitation. The event brought together researchers and professionals from thirty-seven countries who specialise in supporting people with visual impairments.
The ELTE Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education was represented by Dr Judit Gombás, who was invited as a speaker and session chair, and by Beáta Prónay, a member of the ICEVI-Europe Board, who was also attending as a speaker and session chair. The Faculty also presented two posters: one introduced a planned English-language training programme for orientation and mobility instructors, to be launched by the Faculty; the other aimed to promote the Adapted Sports Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme, which will be held for the second time this July.
During the conference, ICEVI-Europe also held its general assembly, including the election of new board members. Beáta Prónay, who had been serving as a board member and professional representative for Central European countries, stepped down from her role. With the assembly’s support, her responsibilities were assumed by Dr Judit Gombás.
In the closing ceremony, Beáta Prónay was honoured for her decades-long, dedicated work on behalf of people with visual impairments. Our heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
