Election of the Dean at Bárczi

Due to the upcoming expiration of the current Dean's term, the Rector of the University announced an open application for the Dean’s position, for which the current Dean, Dr. Gabriella Papp, was the only candidate. The ELTE BGGYK Faculty Council at its meeting on 17 April 2024, unanimously supported the application. The Dean will be appointed by the Rector of the University after the Faculty Council vote, so Gabriella Papp will continue her leadership duties at Bárczi for another 4 years from 1 August.
In her application, Dr. Gabriella Papp presented and evaluated the achievements of the previous Dean's term. Her leadership programme for the next term will continue to focus on continuous improvement and innovation. According to the Dean, Bárczi's motto "With knowledge for an inclusive Hungary" reflects the goal of training professionals who work directly with people with disabilities to promote social inclusion, or who work on inclusion through legislation, accessibility or attitude formation.
Together with the re-elected Dean, the community of the Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education looks forward to a future in which the Faculty can remain at the forefront of special needs education and research.
