Attila Erdős, a staff member of the International Office, improved his English language skills in Malta. In his report, he shares his experiences from the training.
After reading previous reports and hearing about the personal experiences of several colleagues, I applied for a five-day English language course under the Erasmus+ staff mobility program. The goal of the course was not only to improve my language skills but also to gain experience through the cultural diversity characteristic of Malta and the selected language school.

A hallmark of the courses organized by Maltalingua Language School is that students come from a wide variety of countries around the world. In my group, there were participants from Chile, Italy, Japan, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic, so in addition to the “British English” spoken by the teacher, the many different accents—which really put my ears to the test—made the lessons interesting. There were role-playing and presentation exercises, as well as group tasks, all of which were useful for expanding vocabulary and using English more effectively.
After the language classes, I had enough time to explore Malta’s historical, cultural, and, not least, culinary treasures, so the program provided me not only with useful knowledge but also with a fulfilling break.
