Main research areas
My research focuses on the historical aspect of the phenomenon of special education, focusing primarily on the history of discipline of special education, the changes in its basic concepts and the exploration of the phenomena and effects behind the changes. So far, the research has mainly focused on the period of the development of special education, in which Hungarian and international sources have been explored and compared.
I obtained my PhD in 2012 with a dissertation entitled Inclusive School Development. Since then, I have been actively engaged in research and development related to inclusive schooling, with a particular focus on methodologies supporting school development processes. My work includes the translation and national implementation of inclusive school development frameworks developed by international research groups, most notably the UK‑based Index for Inclusion and the Icelandic‑led initiative On the Pathways of Inclusion.
My scholarly interests also encompass inclusive classroom management, differentiated instruction to teaching and learning and universal design for learning in both compulsory education and higher education.
