Laurie deBettencourt, professor and program lead for the special education programs at the School of Education, Johns Hopkins University, and past editor of TESE journal was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the Special Education Institute of Eötvös Loránd University, Atypical Behaviour & Cognition in Budapest, Hungary, during the spring semester of 2018.

Dr. Laurie deBettencourt is now returning to Eötvös Loránd University to use her experience as an Editor to provide seminars for the faculty on publishing in the field of education. She will provide strategies and step-by-step advice for establishing a research agenda and finding time to write professionally for publication. At the end of the workshops participants will learn how to establish a research agenda and find time to write. In addition, they will be able to identify the top special education US journals, discuss how to follow the 7th Edition APA manual and learn about the submitting their publications to a review process. Time will be available for one-to-one assistance.

  • September 20th 13:30-15:30 Workshop 4 (Room: A/67): Understanding the Review Process and Selecting a Journal
